Return Material Authorization
I. Definitions
Customer: A legal entity buying Products from Toradex;
Toradex: Toradex AG, Altsagenstrasse 5, CH-6048 Horw, Switzerland;
Toradex Product: Hardware which is purchased at Toradex AG, excluding any of the following
items: Software, parts not installed or added by Toradex in its factory;
RMA: Return Material Authorization granted solely by Toradex AG.
II. Customer's Responsibilities
1. Any defective Toradex Product to be returned to Toradex requires a RMA number which can
be obtained filling out the RMA request form (please use the menu on the left to navigate to the appropriate form). In order to verify the eligibility for warranty
Customer needs to also state the serial numbers of the products.
The RMA number has to be referenced in any future communication with Toradex
concerning the return material.
2. All RMA approved Toradex Products must be in its original condition with appropriate
packaging. Toradex strongly advises Customers to use the original packaging.
If the Toradex provided clamshells are reused check thoroughly that the goods are inserted
correctly. Placing the good upside down or in the wrong direction will cause mechanical
stress on assembled components which can lead to defects.
Transportation damages can not be claimed by Customer.
3. A complete description of the defect must be included, along with the serial number of
Toradex Product.
If Customer claims warranty additionally a proof of purchase (e.g. the original order
number) is required.
4. Return costs have to be freight prepaid by the Customer.
5. The Proforma Invoice needed for Customs purposes shall:
- Explicitly declare a defective product with a value of 25% of its purchasing price;
- State “Toradex Customs No. CH: 6902162”;
The Harmonized Code / TARIC can be taken from the original invoice of the product.
6. The Customer is not entitled to deduct any amount related to the RMA costs from any
Toradex invoice, except if explicitly allowed to do so by Toradex.
The ownership of any products sent to Toradex not adhering to above Return Material Procedure
passes over to Toradex.
III. Toradex' Responsibilities
If the product is eligible for warranty, Toradex will inform the Customer within ten working days of
its reception how the product will be refunded. This will be one of the following three possibilities:
- Return of the repaired product;
- Return of a replacement product;
- A reduction of the purchase price is granted which is equivalent to the decrease in value of
the Toradex Product.
If Toradex does not grant warranty for the return material Customer will be charged by Toradex for
any repaired or replaced product as well as for the freight charges back to Customer.
